Apple has had a quiet 2018 so far in terms of new product launches, but if a new research note from TF International Securities analyst Ming-Chi Kuo is correct, the iPhone company has a lot of new products planned for this fall. As for storage, the 15-inch MacBook Pro comes with up to a 4TB SSD, while the 13-inch model comes with up to a 2TB SSD.

Prices start at £1,149 for the 13-inch model, £2,349 for the 15-inch, and you can order them today from the Apple website and select Apple stores. The new chip, T2, which is also installed in the iMac Pro, is capable of activating Siri, a voice assistant, by saying "Hey Siri". The unit will bring high-end desktop-class graphics processing to MacBook Pro for professional video workflows while also being the first to support Thunderbolt 3 displays.

Aside from more power, the updated machines also gain the True Tone colour control system from Apple's iPads, which uses light sensors to adjust the colour temperature of the display to best match the light in your environment. Additional updates include support for up to 32GB of memory, a True Tone display and an improved third-generation keyboard for quieter typing. The 12-inch, 13-inch, and 15-inch sleeves sell for $149, $179, and $199, respectively.

Fans of Apple's laptops have also been expecting updates to the more basic MacBook, as well as the lightweight MacBook Air.

The newly announced MacBook Pros still have butterfly keyboards, but they've been updated. Apple had said it was not a safety issue and had offered worldwide free replacement for such batteries. So, an upgrade here will be welcome for many and might include tweaks to fix the issues that have plagued earlier generations of butterfly keyboards. One silver lining of this custom design is the unit runs quietly at as little as 18 dB. For the same price as last year's lineup, we'll see monstrous performance upgrades that promise up to 70 percent more horsepower than previous hardware. The sentiments shared in his post about the 15-inch Retina Macbook Pro model - titled "The best laptop ever made" - were echoed across the web.

"The 15" series features Radeon 555X or Radeon 560X discrete GPU graphic cards with 4GB of GDDR5 memory, while the 13" line sticks to the integrated GPU now with 128MB of embedded DRAM. Yep, Apple is actually offering a Core i9-equipped variant.

Plus, bumping the RAM from 16GB to 32GB adds another $400. Maxing out the storage to the 4 TB SSD is $3,400 or $3,200, depending on which core model you're starting from.
