Giuliani Says He Might Have Recused Himself From Russia Probe Too

Adding to the "mountain of evidence" that President Donald Trump has obstructed justice and indicating that special counsel Robert Mueller's probe is continuing to expand, the New York Times reported late Tuesday that Mueller is examining a meeting last March during which Trump ordered Attorney General Jeff Sessions to reverse his recusal from the FBI's Russian Federation investigation.

In a series of tweets, Trump quoted Representative Trey Gowdy as expressing sympathy for the president's frustration at Sessions' decision to recuse himself from the investigation into Russian efforts to influence the 2016 presidential campaign.

President Donald Trump sits with Attorney General Jeff Sessions during the FBI National Academy graduation ceremony in Quantico, Virginia in December.

"There are lots of really good lawyers in the country". Now, amid these reports this week, President Trump tweeted that he wishes he had chosen someone else to lead the Justice Department.

Since that time, Trump has called Sessions "beleaguered" and in February referred to him as "Mr. Magoo" during a closed-door meeting reported by The Washington Post.

"That's why the markets and I think most of the country looks at this and says, "Adam Schiff, you promised an very bad lot and delivered nothing, because there's a big 'nothing-burger" here, '" Chaffetz continued.

The decision was slammed by Trump, calling it as an "ultimate betrayal". I don't know what the president may have said.

But these claims ignore the fact that Trump was personally warned in August 2016 by senior U.S. intelligence officials that foreign adversaries - including Russian Federation - would likely attempt to infiltrate his team or gather intelligence about his campaign, according to sources familiar with the matter.

The picture was originally taken by photographer David Leyes , whose website captioned the photo as " Drake Us And Them". Pusha T's track was was in direct response to Drake's diss record Duppy Freestyle , released on Friday.

Unnamed sources detailed to Axios in a Thursday report additional discussions Trump had with Sessions over the phone and in person about his recusal.

Nearly from the moment Sessions took the position, his boss - Donald Trump -has berated, belittled, and humiliated him. The investigation unearthed the existence of Clinton's private email server, which triggered an FBI inquiry and became a key issue in her 2016 presidential campaign against Trump. "I've never heard the term "spy" used", he told "CBS This Morning".

Sessions recused himself from the investigation into possible Trump campaign cooperation with Russia's election interference, citing Justice Department policy governing potential conflicts of interest given Sessions' role in the Trump campaign.

The episode could put Sessions, whom Mueller's investigators interviewed in January, in the position of being a witness against the president in the obstruction side of Mueller's investigation, according to the Times.

Russian Federation had earlier denied meddling in the USA election campaign and Trump called Mueller's probe a "political witch hunt". Looking ahead to fall elections, he has reinforced to Trump that the best approach now "is to keep focused on good governance in the midterms".

Gowdy said he too would have been "frustrated" in such a situation if not told ahead of time that his attorney general would not handle "the most important case in the office".

Those facts notwithstanding, Giuliani said Mueller's investigation has failed to find anything of importance and should be ended quickly.

Gonzales said if Bush had said something similar publicly while he was serving as attorney general, he would have asked to speak with the then-president privately about whether he wanted him to continue leading the Department of Justice. The South Carolina congressman responded by distancing himself from Trump.
